I sat and had dinner solo at the bar. The service from the bartender was excellent. He was timely without being pushy, even though the restaurant was nearly full. Courteous, easygoing, helpful service. The house margarita was great: refreshing, made in-house, not too sweet. The local beer on draft was also on point. The chips and salsa appetizer were solid. Salsa was tangy and flavorful, but pretty mild. Chips were crispy, fresh, salty. The tamale dinner special was outstanding. The masa was hearty and tender. The dish included some novel ingredients, like fresh arugula, but all the flavors worked together perfectly. The bartender brought three bottles of house made hot sauce as condiments, and all three had great flavor and acidity. Bravo!
